This Tiger Swallowtail was so intent on getting a meal from this flower that it forgot to fly away before I could get it in focus like it has been doing all week.

nice one - love the colour of the blue on it's wing. wish i had butterflies like that to photograph in my garden. Mind you, all these photos you keep putting on you can't do anything else except photograph! Do you work?! :lol:

Beautiful shot. Great color. Have you ever wondered why the males and females are SO easy to tell apart in some bug species, while in others they are indistingishable? Wonder what the purpose is....

He's missing his left tassle thing on his wing, wonder what happened there? I like that pic, really nice. I had one of these flutter around my head one day, almost like he was playing with me. It was cool, though I almost walked into the carport ducking and dodging. LOL

That is a really nice shot Larry, sometimes you get lucky like this. At first I thought this was the Spicebrush Swallowtail, but now I realize it is the black form of the Tiger Swallowtail.
